This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds.

To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance.

A lifetime is like a flash of lightening in the sky,

Rushing by, like a torrent down a steep mountain.  ~ Buddha

I went to New York City with a friend and returned on September 11.  People asked me if I was afraid to travel on that day.  No, I wasn’t.  It was just another day.  In no way is this meant to minimize what happened in 2001, either.

The way I see it is that every day is precious.  Today is a beautiful fall day.

Will I die unexpectedly?

I hope not, but it’s possible.  It’s always possible.

Rather than live in fear, I try to live in the now.

Now is all I have.

Even if I write like there is a tomorrow.
